Let's jump right into it. I just uploaded a video showing the results of my experiments with the UDK game engine. I am trying to learn the basic techniques I need to implement my little Alien Party game. It does not look like much. It would be impossible to tell how many late nights I spent googling, reading UDK source code and trolling their forums to get here. I could complain here about how impossible it is to find time to do anything in my busy life, but I have no time for that :). So here it is:
As soon as I finished that, I outlined my plan for the next prototype. One thing I have learned is that when resources are very limited, proper planning is key. What a boring life-lesson, but it is true. Work never eases up, and the family always needs you. I do not want to let anybody down and I can not be happy if I do not exercise the game development muscle, so I will just have to be a very sleep deprived guy. Hey, it is just like having a new baby! Hopefully I can make this progressively better until it finally resembles a real game.
I found a site with several videotutorials about Unreal Engine. Right now I dont have the link, just remember that I posted it in my blog.
