Still in the game
So far so good. I heard back from both companies and the on-site interviews are being arranged. Sweet! It is such a long process, but I have to find some patience somewhere. I have not sent any resumes to any non-gaming companies yet for fear of that interfering with plan A (well, in a moment of weakness I did send one to Google, but who has not done that?). But I did talk to an exec from my old company about doing part-time contract work for a little while and that sounds promising. The plan is to spend the rest of this week helping Jonathan release a new version of his game Aztaka. My name will be in the credits! Check it out if you have not already. It is a beautiful side-scroller based on Aztec legend. Man, it is so much fun when the output of your work is part of something cool. I do not want this to stop!
So, all the paths into the future are still open. The only thing I can do is keep working and be patient, which is hard when the money clock is ticking away loudly. I wish I could just hit that thing with a giant hammer. That would take care of it.
